Madgaon Express Kunal Kemmu has come a long way from being a young artist to being an actor. Kunal revealed his intention to make his directorial debut on the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi, adding another accomplishment to his resume. Kunal co-starred in his first film as a director, Madgaon Express, which was produced by Excel Entertainment, a company run by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.

Kunal Kemmu is prepared to occupy the director’s chair after years of working as an actor in the film business. On Ganesh Chaturthi, the actor declared his fresh beginning on Instagram. It began with a thought in my head, developed into a dream, flowed out through my fingers into words on my laptop, and is now becoming a reality (sic), he wrote, adding, “Ganpati Bappa Moriya! As all good things begin with his name I can’t think of a better day to share this with all of you.” He named the movie Madgaon Express.

With the Excel movie Madgaon Express, Kunal Kemmu makes his directing debut. With Dil Chahta Hai in 2001, Farhan Akhtar also made his directorial debut. In 2009, his sister, the well-known director Zoya Akhtar, also made her directorial debut with the film Luck By Chance. Kunal is currently starting his career as a director with the production company.
Together with Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar co-founded Excel Entertainment. They have provided funding for popular films like ZNMD, Dil Chahta Hai, Don, Don 2, and many more. The production company is now preparing for Jee Le Zaraa, starring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif.
