Breaking news: Virat Kohli completed his 71st International hundred. The king is back

Team India played against Afghanistan on Thursday, as the two teams played their final match of the Super 4 stage of Asia Cup 2022. While the game’s outcome was unimportant, both teams hoped to end their tournament positively.

In the meantime, KL Rahul captained India during the game, while Rohit Sharma was sat out. Virat Kohli was paired with Rahul as an opener, and they assisted in helping India get off to a great start. The 33-year-old smashed his fifty, but things could have turned out differently.

The Indian-born batsman was playing for 28 when he was hit with a lifeline of massive size. He hit the ball towards the deep mid-wicket, where Ibrahim Zadran was stationed. Kohli had attempted to hit an area but had not timed his shot correctly.

Zadran erred in his leap, and the ball landed on his right arm before slipping across the field for the six. The replays revealed that the Afghanistan player threw out only one arm rather than two hands.

Kohli will then get his third fifty points in the 32 balls in the Asia Cup 2022.

Rahul and Kohli both smashed their respective fifties when they assisted India to 111 runs over 12 overs, without losing a single wicket as of the writing time.
