Additionally, Uzbekistan on Friday handed the presidency rotating of the eight members of the SCO in the SCO to India. On Twitter, Uzbek Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov wrote: “As the result of #SCOSamarkandSummit India will host the next SCO summit in the capacity of the chairperson of the Organisation for 2023. We will try all we can to support India as our strategic partner, in the execution of this important mission.”

In his speech at the SCO summit 2022 on Friday, Modi said the Indian economy is projected to expand by 7.5 percent this year, which is expected to be among the most powerful economies around the globe. In his speech in Samarkand, the Uzbek town of Samarkand the prime minister also claimed that India is moving towards becoming a hub for manufacturing. The second day at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit started with the presence of Prime Premier Narendra Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif, and Russian President Vladimir Putin in attendance, in addition to others.
