Ekta Kapoor’s appeal against the arrest warrants issued against her for allegedly disrespecting troops and offending their families in the web series that was broadcast on her OTT platform ALTBalaji was being heard by the Supreme Court.

“There must be action taken. The youthful generation in our nation is having their minds contaminated by you. Everyone has access to it. Over-the-top (OTT) material is accessible to everyone. What type of options do you provide the populace? …on the contrary, you are contaminating children’s minds, “Justices Ajay Rastogi and CT Ravikumar’s bench stated.

The Patna High Court has received a plea, but there is little prospect the case will be scheduled for hearing soon, senior counsel Mukul Rohatgi, who is representing Ekta Kapoor, said. This is when the court made the statement.

He said that Ekta Kapoor had already received protection from the Supreme court in a related case.

According to Mr. Rohatgi, there is freedom of choice in this nation and that the material is subscription-based.

The court then questioned what type of option is being offered to individuals after deferring on imposing fees.

“We don’t like that you have to travel to this court every time. We will charge you a fee for submitting such a petition. Mr. Rohatgi, kindly let your client know this. This court is not for those who have voices only because you can afford to acquire the services of skilled lawyers.

This court represents individuals without a voice; if those with access to a variety of facilities are unable to obtain justice, consider the plight of the average person. The bench stated, “We have reviewed the order and we have our concerns.

The high court left the case open-ended and advised hiring a local attorney to monitor the progress of the hearing before the high court.

The warrant was issued by a trial court in Begusarai, Bihar, in response to a complaint made by an ex-serviceman named Shambhu Kumar.

In his 2020 complaint, Mr. Kumar claimed that Season 2 of the series “XXX” had multiple offensive scenes involving a soldier’s wife.
